Puerta de la Luna

The location is great for walks into the old town, but the staff didn’t seem interested in guests. The beds are old and creak when you move, the AC couldn’t cope with eight people in a dorm, and the showers weren’t very clean. Location 10/10, overall experience 2/10.

I stayed in an eight-bed room and found the hostel very clean, with genuinely good staff. David at reception was nice to talk to and good at his job, and the housekeeping woman was impressively capable and very kind. The location is perfect, and there’s a pleasant courtyard for eating or taking a break. I’ve never seen a hostel kitchen this clean. The sleeping setup was just okay. The bunks are noisy and could offer more privacy, and I didn’t sleep that well. You can also hear the bathroom and shower from the room, though that’s something you might expect in a hostel. I saw the private room for two with its own bathroom, and it looked really nice. I’d recommend it if you get the chance. The dining room could be better for socializing. It’s just one table with four seats, and the lighting doesn’t make much of an atmosphere. A small change to the lobby or kitchen might make things feel nicer.

In the middle of city life, the hostel has lovely surroundings and a nice public terrace. Our double room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had a really good bed. The problem was the shower drain, which smelled awful. We had to sleep with the balcony door open, and that smell took away from an otherwise nice stay.

The owners clearly care about the place, and the room was extremely clean. It felt very safe, with the main door locked after sunset. The location is good value and close to the historic sites. Our private room was a little noisy because of where it is, but otherwise it was an excellent stay.
