Tandem El Patio Suites

We really needed to wash clothes, so the free laundry room was a massive plus. It has a washing machine and either a tumble dryer or a hanger. The apartments are spacious, clean, and modern, looking recently refurbished, with all the amenities for a few days in Córdoba. They’re pretty much in the city center. Check-in and check-out went smoothly, and the staff gave us lots of great recommendations.

The location is the big advantage here, with pretty much everything you need only a short walk away. The rooms are nice, the staff are nice, and the apartment is spacious and clean. We’d stay again, and felt very safe in the building. The city is amazing too. There are two large bedrooms with wardrobes. One has an ensuite, and both have wall-mounted TVs. The living area has a handy sofa bed and a small but functional kitchen with an induction hob, fridge, and microwave. The WiFi was poor and unstable, even though reception tried to fix it. When it worked, downloads were just over 1mb sec, which wasn’t really enough for work or for kids and their devices. There’s very little space behind the wall-mounted TVs, so you can’t plug a fire stick or android device into the mains. I’d read about the drain smell before arriving. There’s not much that can be done about it, and you get used to it after a few minutes. These issues felt fairly small beside the apartment’s size, cleanliness, location, and nice staff.

The apartment itself is clean, but the dishes in the cabinets were still wet. The laundry room is on the building’s top floor and shared by everyone. The worst part of our stay at Tandem El Patio has been the cockroaches in the bedroom and bathroom. We saw four in the last eight hours. We also didn’t get a reminder that check-in was at the nearby Eurostar Patios De Córdoba. My husband and I went to Tandem El Patio’s entrance and couldn’t figure out how to get in. We rang what we thought was a doorbell and got no answer. I checked my email, and the only message from Tandem was the booking email from three months ago with the check-in information. Update: I got a partial refund for the night. We were moved to another room for our second and final night.

It’s a beautiful, clean building on a small street in the Old Town, and the little apartment was amazing, clean, and had everything you’d need. The sealed apartment and remote controls, digicode access for the building and apartment, kitchen cleaning kit with sponges, washing liquid and bin bag, and extra large bed were nice touches. A couple of problems: the digicode had to be reset twice in two days, and nobody at the hotel picked up the phone for support. Luckily it happened during the day, and a Spanish family with the same issue helped us. There isn’t really a 24-hour reception onsite, since the reception is at a hotel three minutes away. Even so, I’d recommend this high-standing apartment hotel.
