Oasis Duna Apartments

The pools look fantastic, the loungers are kept in good shape, and staff were out picking up rubbish. But they were freezing. I was told they used to be heated, though they aren’t now, and that alone means we wouldn’t return. The complex has lots of closed off areas and an almost nonexistent reception, opening onto a huge courtyard with closed common rooms and restaurants. The place feels a bit odd, like a former hotel. The tiled floors are badly broken up, and some replacement tiles don’t match. They’re extremely slippery when wet. We were in the block right behind the bar; behind us was a property with dogs. We never heard them, but they were allowed to roam freely and leave poo anywhere, even in the middle of the path. We came back on Christmas Day after a week in a privately rented apartment.

The courtyard was grubby and run down, and in the end the pool made our stay in an otherwise lovely independently owned villa pointless. The water was only 8-10 degrees Celsius. My kid just wanted to swim, but it was so cold we could manage only ten minutes before he had to lie on the tiles to warm up. After three days we had to move to a H10 hotel, where the pools were guaranteed to be 24 degrees.

We’ve stayed for a week for the second time recently, and were really impressed again. The pools are amazing, spread out enough to feel relaxed, and the grounds are well kept. The location is superb, with easy access to the main area and a lovely little shopping centre. Corralejo is lovely too, with loads of nice places to eat. We had a top time.

We spent our holiday in apartment C304 "Casa Alvates" at holiday resort Oasis Duna. The private terrace looks over the garden, and it’s very close to the three pools and pool bar. A real treasure if you want a cosy, comfortable apartment in the centre of Corralejo.
