We took our dog up to the first-floor bar and sat out on the terrace. It was so peaceful, with terrific views across the river, and the service was friendly and quick. The historic spa building is lovely, with a museum and restaurant downstairs. We had a great time 😍

We had delicious food and excellent tapas on the terrace, looking out over the Minho River. The beautifully restored place is fantastic, and Camilo was a warm, kind host. The dishes were prepared by the incomparable chef Francisca.

We were cycling nearby and, after finding that none of the bars in Cortegada served food, spotted this place on Google Maps. The river views looked lovely, but the whole experience was pretentious and I really hated it. There were only two other customers when we arrived. I asked about bocadillos, and the man said they didn't have them, so we ordered two beers. Then the girl serving us asked if we wanted food. We said we'd been told there were no sandwiches, and she explained that they had tapas, meats and cheeses. Fine, we said. She then told us to move to a section that was already set up, with a nicer feel and better river views. The menu turned out to be very expensive, but we decided to order a couple of cold plates since the view was alright and we're not peasants. My choice, the salchison of mariscos, wasn't available. We got the anchovies and meat and cheese plate instead. I don't understand how the anchovies could cost €10 or the meat and cheese €15. The cheese and meat reminded me of Eroski's €1 value range, and the anchovies seemed like any old tin. Very basic. Maybe the artificial laurel leaf on the platter made it so expensive. With two beers, the bill came to €31.50. I hated the whole experience!!!

The restaurant's terrace has lovely views of the Miño River, and the food was excellent. It's a beautiful spot, full of history and charm, and highly recommended!

The chuletón was great, and the wine matched it well. What a find! The view is exquisite, and there are lovely walks too.
