Puerto De Palos Hotel

The staff were the best part for me. Everyone was so friendly and gave us service that felt far beyond what we expected at those prices. We thought the rooms might be pretty basic for the price, but the quality was excellent, something I wouldn't have expected in that area. A 10 out of 10 for everyone. We'll definitely come back.

We had booked this hotel through Booking.com for August 14th to 17th, but around 6 pm on the 16th we got news that a family member had died. We had to leave suddenly, even though we let the hotel know beforehand. A few days later I asked Booking.com for a refund for the final night because of the unexpected circumstances. They contacted the hotel, but the hotel refused, saying I hadn't given enough notice and they couldn't resell the room. With a death in the family, there's obviously no time to give notice. I then emailed the hotel the death certificate, booking details, and my request. It's been over a week, and I know they received it, but I haven't had a reply. I feel they could at least respond with some empathy. I made clear this wasn't because I disliked the hotel or was unhappy with it. Thank you.

The breakfast was a mess. We had booked a room with breakfast, but our names weren't on the list, and the waiters were generally a disaster, though at least there weren't any major problems. The canned juice was yellowish and tasted concentrated. I asked for toast and pointed to what I wanted, but the waiter brought whatever he felt like. The coffee with milk came in a tall glass. Service was very poor from the start. We had to go ask at the restaurant before someone came to reception, and our direct reservation couldn't be found, which held up check-in. There's no elevator, and the stair railing felt like it was about to fall off. The rooms are outdated, with pillows and mattresses that seem to be from forever ago. I'd have rested better in the truck cab. Not recommended!

It's in the middle of an industrial park, with lots of seasonal workers around. The cafeteria is very good, and the restaurant's two-course menu costs less than 12 euros and is also very good. Breakfast is worth having, with really good bread and coffee. The rooms are spacious, clean, and tidy. It's not luxurious, but for a two-star hotel it's fine. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
