The rooms were really comfortable, and we enjoyed the delicious breakfasts. Booking here was the best decision we made. The staff were incredibly friendly, gave us ideas for routes to explore, and were always lovely to chat with. I’m sure we’ll stay again if we come back to the area.

We brought our medium-sized dog and were welcomed warmly. The owners explained the rules, which seemed reasonable for avoiding disruption to the other guests. They’re very friendly, provided a map of places to visit, and were a big help.

We had a rainy weekend and couldn’t do some of the things we’d planned. The owners kindly suggested different routes and options that would work with the weather. They were lovely and attentive throughout, and the service was impeccable. The rooms were very clean. The house is on the road up to Covadonga, just 50 meters from the entrance to the road leading to the lakes. We’ll definitely come back.

The house is in a beautiful location, but the owner’s poor manners made the atmosphere uncomfortable. This place is NOT dog-friendly, despite advertising that it is. When we arrived, my dog barked excitedly as we got out of the car. The man running the house immediately asked if she was going to bark. I explained that she sometimes barks a little when getting out of the car, but he then lectured us about disturbing other guests, said he hoped it was true that she didn’t bark, and went through the house rules and areas where dogs weren’t allowed. My dog didn’t make another sound for the rest of our stay. You can imagine how uncomfortable we felt bringing her, especially since I’d called before booking to make sure it wouldn’t be a problem. I understand that money is a big draw and accepting pets gives a place an advantage over other nearby houses and hotels, but if you don’t like dogs, think about whether it’s worth making both the pets and paying guests feel so unwelcome. Parking was another major issue. When we arrived, there were no spaces. He told us we could move some cones and park on yellow lines, even though the lines marked the house entrance as no parking. I was worried about leaving our car there illegally, especially after the conversation about the dog. The man suggested we find somewhere else to stay if we weren’t comfortable. We were stunned. Sure, he could have charged us 50% of the reservation and kicked us out, but where would we have found somewhere for that same night and the following nights in August? I wish I could have left. When I called, I’d been told it was hard to find a space during peak hours. In reality, there’s never a space available: it’s a public lot with very few spaces for all the tourists visiting the lakes and the Virgin of Covadonga. During mid/high season, spaces only start to open up from 9 or 10 pm until 7 am. They can reserve one or two spaces with cones, but if other guests have already taken them, you have to wait for someone to leave. There were other problems and misunderstandings I won’t get into, but I think you can understand. The room was also very humid. All our clothes were damp, and we could hear absolutely everything from the next room. In short, a one or two night stay without a pet might be different, but with a pet it becomes very unpleasant.
