Check in went smoothly thanks to the staff, who waited patiently and warmly for us when we arrived around 6pm. If you're getting in late, let Hostal Tabanqueta know in advance. It saves unnecessary stress. We were the only tourists there in November, so it felt quiet and almost private. The rooms are simple, neat, clean and functional. There isn't much decoration, which suited us since we were there to explore Cuenca. A small balcony off the toilet had a view, an odd but delightful surprise. The hostal is traditional and basic, in the historic center, with steep streets all around. The old town sights, viewpoints and restaurants are easy to reach on foot, and the hanging houses are nearby. Street parking was about 30 meters away, quite manageable for the old town. Practical, comfortable and well located, with a bit of unexpected charm.

They left coffee and a piece of cake in the room for breakfast, and there were four pillows. The windows were really cool, and the price was good. Great location and amazing views. My only complaint is that the shampoo came in sachets and there wasn't any hand soap.

All the photos are just a few steps from the hostel, and I had a private room with its own bathroom. It was small, but the view deserves 10 stars. I read the negative reviews from the last couple of years, and they seem overly harsh or entitled to me. This is a hostel right beside the castle gate, at a great price, with phenomenal views.

The place looks lovely inside and out, and staying there felt like being in a medieval fairytale. The facilities are modern and practical too. The hostal is right by the Cathedral, which is impressive and unique, and the surroundings are quiet. The bathroom is modern, the shower pressure is good, and the linens and towels were impeccably clean. We asked for a kettle and got one, along with a great selection of teas. No breakfast, but coffee facilities and pastries are provided. Definitely a place to stay!

There isn't breakfast, but they leave a Nespresso and muffins in the room, a nice touch. The hostel was very pleasant and clean, with brand-new rooms and furnishings. At first glance it made a good impression, and that only improved. It's about a five-minute walk from the city center, with the Cuenca bus stop right outside. Highly recommended.
