Pensión Zumardi

There are rats in the attic roof, where the bathroom is. I also couldn't sleep because the top-floor attic room was so hot, and I had 30km to walk on the Camino the next day. During a heat wave, I asked for the AC to be turned on, but only the owner can control it. It was set at 25 degrees Celsius, and after 15 minutes it still wasn't comfortable, so I asked her to lower it. She came to my room, saw the windows open, which I'd just opened because of the heat, and berated me for running the AC with them open. She insisted that 25 degrees is comfortable for everybody and that even the government says so, though I told her I personally was uncomfortable. She also said she didn't want other guests to hear the AC, even though it was already on and wasn't loud. When I asked what I should do if I couldn't sleep from the heat, she just shrugged. I've never had an interaction like that with anyone in hospitality. Enough excuses. This felt like a cheap hotel that doesn't care about guests' comfort. AVOID IF POSSIBLE.

We've stayed at Zumardi several times, and every visit has been a lovely experience. It's a relaxing place for a solo trip, a couple, or a family, with welcoming staff and a homely feel. The rooms we've used have been comfortable and clean, with cozy beds, thoughtful warm design, and just enough space for us. Breakfast was delicious, and you can tell they know hospitality. Pension Zumardi is right by the beach and very close to the town center.

Clean room with everything we needed, including AC, and the staff were very friendly. The pension is in a great spot, just a two-minute walk to the beach and five minutes to the plaza central.

We had a really comfortable, clean room, and there was even a free beer, soft drink, and water in the mini bar. It's about a five-minute walk to the beach and close to the Camino. The owner was friendly and gave us helpful tips on where to eat. Would definitely recommend!
