Hotel Palau Verd Adults Only

The hotel and our room were clean, the pool was nice and clean though small, and the many plants made the place pleasant. Free parking was helpful, and we slept well on the firm, European style beds. They sit in metal frames that get noisy when you move. The big fluffy towels won’t be washed if you hang them up. Coffee was the only thing we tried, and it was pretty tasty. Getting around on foot was the main drawback. It’s easily 40 minutes to town, and the walk to the beach is around 15 minutes to the very rocky shore, then another 10 to sand, mostly without shade. There are a couple of bikes to use. There’s a lot of road noise, and first floor rooms have little privacy. The lower floor rooms have small terraces, which we saw lots of people using for smoking. The shower was rather whimsical, with medium to low pressure. The side tables looked nice but were so rickety I nearly knocked one over, and the blinds squeaked, though they made the room nice and dark. Service was pleasant but patchy. We booked three nights online, then called to add one more. I was told I’d get an email, but my contact in Spain got a call instead. When we arrived, only the original three nights were recorded, so we worried we might need to find somewhere else. It all worked out. A pleasant stay, and I’d recommend it if you don’t want to walk into town or to the beach.

Good value for money, with nice food at breakfast and dinner. The rooms are a good size, and the gardens and pool area are excellent. The air conditioning was a bit noisy, and the fridge was noisy too, so it could do with being inside a cupboard. Better pillows would help as well.

The grounds are cute, breakfast was decent, and the staff were really nice. Some things could use renovation, like the shower.

The buffet breakfast was great, and the gardens were pretty, with full balconies fitted out with loungers, a table and chairs. We were there just before the season started, while they were still getting ready. I’d come back.
