La Posada del Mar Hotel

Our room was spacious, spotless, and nicely presented. The design wasn’t luxurious, but it was comfortable, especially the exceptionally large, high quality bed. The reception area has a sleek, contemporary look that fits the rest of the impressive property. Staff were welcoming when we checked in, accommodated our request to arrive early, and stayed friendly, professional, and attentive throughout. We had an excellent stay and look forward to coming back.

We were traveling with a couple from Germany who got sick on the way, but the hotel wouldn’t change the arrival date and hid behind its cancellation policy. Especially on Christmas Eve, that felt like a very unfriendly move. Customer service was very unfriendly and impolite.

Parking is the big problem here. It’s terrible in the area, and even stopping briefly to check in can be impossible because the supposed designated area on a street behind is often full. There’s a paid garage up another street for longer stays. If you have a car, I’d recommend using it, though it isn’t cheap. The building is lovely, beautifully furnished, and the rooms are clean and spacious. The location is excellent for exploring Denia’s old town on foot. But service wasn’t great. Our bathroom door wouldn’t shut properly, and nothing was done after we reported it on the first day. Breakfast was extremely disappointing and not worth the price; better to eat elsewhere. Vegetarians should avoid it: meat touches the cheeses and they use the same utensils, which is unacceptable and quite dangerous from a food hygiene perspective. There was also a very limited selection of healthy food. We wouldn’t stay again.

We had a lovely harbor view from our balcony and could easily walk to shops, restaurants, and local sights. The staff were kind and helpful, and our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at La Posada del Mar.
