The modern décor is stylish and thoughtfully done, and the whole hotel has a relaxed but refined feel. It had only just opened when I stayed, and the welcoming staff were warm and attentive. I really enjoyed my visit and would gladly come back.

We came away feeling much happier, if a little heavier after all that lovely food. Toy Ristorante is gorgeous, with amazing food and drinks, and would be a great choice for a special occasion. The cocktails were fantastic too. The hotel feels luxurious, and our spacious room was beautifully decorated and comfortable, with everything we needed and a really big, comfy bed. Staff were cheerful, welcoming and helpful throughout. The location is excellent for shops, restaurants and cultural spots like the castle. The port is a short walk away, and at Nomada we enjoyed more good food while watching the boats come in against the castle backdrop. I’d highly recommend it if you enjoy a bit of luxury and great food and cocktails.

We stayed for three nights at the end of April after a friend recommended the hotel. It’s newly opened, so everything felt fresh, and the staff were approachable, friendly and generally helpful. The location beside Denia Castle worked well for us. The room was a good size, though a lot of the space was taken up by a long corridor. The design is stylish, but several details felt impractical. There was nowhere in the bathroom to hang towels or dressing gowns except inside the shower. The shower tray was very shallow and flat, so water drained slowly and overflowed into the bathroom, with a risk of reaching the carpeted bedroom if left. The cupboards couldn’t fit full-length dresses, there were no luggage racks, and the desk lamp blocked the shutters from opening. A ceiling light was so close to the bed wall that its shade rested against the picture wall. There was only one chair and one bedside table in our double room. Breakfast had been advertised as a buffet and was included in what we paid. On the first morning, nothing was laid out. When we asked, the waitress said they weren’t serving a buffet because the hotel wasn’t busy, and that we could order from the menu. We complained at reception, and the clerk said she’d speak to the manager about making it right. We heard nothing more from either of them, though the buffet was set out the next day. It had good variety and quality, with plenty of food, but we felt short changed for that first morning. The rooftop bar is a nice feature, with excellent views and a relaxing area reserved for residents. But the best views and high stools were in the smoking section. Signs said drinks weren’t allowed there, yet staff delivered drinks to smokers in that area. Service was attentive, though delivery took a while. One afternoon we waited over 20 minutes for a coffee and a beer in the private area. That evening, three glasses of Cava took about as long in the general public area. One odd thing was that the full cost of our stay was charged to the credit card on check-in day. When I queried it, the receptionist said this was normal for hotels in Spain. I explained that in more than 20 years of staying at Spanish hotels, including a recent stay at the local Marriot Hotel and the nearest Parador, that hadn’t been my experience. She still maintained it was standard throughout Spain, based on her career in the hotel industry there. Since the hotel is new, we’ll put these issues down to early days and teething problems. They’re fixable, and we may give it another try later or next year.

The rooftop bar is well worth a visit. Good drinks, friendly service, and cheap!

We stayed at Nomada House from Friday 1st May to Monday 4th May, and the whole weekend was made better by being there. We’re really glad we chose it, and I’d highly recommend the hotel, restaurant and staff. Our flight into Valencia airport was late, so we reached the hotel at 00:30 on Saturday. Nicole on reception greeted us warmly and enthusiastically, quickly handled our arrival and personally showed us to the room. A great first impression. We had a Junior Suite, which was fantastic. Calling it “Junior” feels misleading, since the space and quality of the fittings, fixtures and accessories were better than rooms we’ve had at other 4-star hotels. There was a sofa on a thick fluffy rug, a huge TV, tea-making facilities, glass-fronted wardrobes with automatic lights, and a table and chairs in the lounge. The bathroom sat between the lounge and bedroom. It had a freestanding bath and his ‘n’ hers sinks on one side, with a huge walk-in shower, double rain shower heads and WC on the other. Glass walls gave it a stylish look, with modern wallpaper providing privacy where needed in the WC. In the bedroom there was another huge TV above a dressing table with a coffee machine. The ‘Big Brother’ chair wrapped around you, and the super King size bed was very comfortable, with diamond-stitched upholstered bedsides. French doors opened onto a balcony with a stunning view of Denia castle. The décor, high-end finishes, accessories and little details made the room feel far above its price level. A special thanks to Nicole for being so professional despite our late arrival. Reuben also served us drinks on the ‘Sky Bar’ roof terrace on two nights, always attentive, polite and professional.
