Hotel Nou Romà

The staff were super friendly, and the hotel is very well priced. It's a lovely boutique place in the old part of Dénia, with a lot of history and a great job done on the renovation and added rooms. Their desayuno was huge. I'd definitely recommend booking a stay.

We spent three nights here, from 18th Nov to 21st Nov, and would stay again. The hotel's well placed for local bars and restaurants, and its buffet breakfast was one of the best we've had. We booked an Annexe Room described as budget, with its own patio, but it was far from basic. The room and bathroom were both excellent. One night the electronic lock on the Annexe door failed, so we waited about 20 minutes for a staff member to let us in. He didn't explain things very clearly, but a lovely Spanish couple staying in the Annexe translated for us.

We paid €95 through Booking.com, which felt like far too little for what we got. Parking behind a gate for €12 was handy, and the location by the castle, a 10-15 minute walk from the beach, worked perfectly. The room was clean and cozy, with a lovely smell. The bathroom stood out, with its huge mirror, spacious shower and stone floor and wall, plus Rituals shower gel and shampoo. A rain shower or nicer showerhead would suit the bathroom's look even better. Breakfast was included and really nice, with everything freshly baked and beautifully presented. You can even find this place listed as a breakfast spot for people who aren't staying here. At check-in, the receptionist was so sweet, took good care of us, showed us around and explained everything. Her English was excellent, which isn't very common in Spain. We felt at home from the start. From check-in to breakfast, the whole stay felt like a five-star experience. I didn't take photos, so you'll have to take my word for it. If I visit Denia again, I'll definitely stay here. 5/5!

The location was great, but that was the only good part of our stay. The room was extremely poor, the restaurant was closed for the chef's holiday and nobody had told us beforehand, and breakfast was poor too. The hot food was very cold. We won't return.
