The restaurant served good food, and the service was quick. It’s right by the road and easy to get to. One extra charge, though: they bill €1.50 per person just for sitting at a table in the dining room.

The food at the restaurant was really good, though a little pricey. Dogs are allowed, and that alone earns it five stars from me. Nice place.

The open grill steak is still on my mind. I’ve stayed three times, and the place is busy with locals, which tells you something. The menu is huge and very Spanish, the rooms are spotless, and everyone is friendly. Excellent place, and those steaks are the best I’ve ever had. Brilliant.

We stopped at this roadside meson for a quick bite and got a friendly welcome from the woman behind the bar, who explained the meal options. It’s a really large place. We chose the grilled meat platos combinados, and they were just as described, no surprises, and delicious. Prices were quite reasonable, and we’ll definitely come back.

Mesón Los Arcos turned up between Madrid and Córdoba, just off the motorway, and I couldn’t pass up an entrecôte steak with a huge salad. I was there on a Sunday afternoon, and it was great to see how popular and well supported the business is. The staff were friendly and helpful, truly five-star service. Driving through rural Spain is an adventure, with local privately run hotels like this known for their Asados or Ventas.
