Albergue Santa Lucía - Olveiroa

We left and stayed at the municipal place instead, which was much better. We'd booked a double room, but there wasn't one. What we were shown was a dingy room with two bunk beds. This felt like a very odd place, not a proper albergue.

The building looks lovely from outside, but inside it's awful. Even one star feels generous. Calling this an “albergue” is a stretch. Expect nothing and you might be fine.

The bedding was filthy, with stains all over the sheets, and the towels were so dirty my wife had to dry off with toilet paper. I've slept in better places for pigs. I'd rather walk back to the start of the stage than spend another night here. Not recommended.

We were put upstairs by Fernando, who let us use the bathroom. There weren't any other pilgrims around, and that bathroom was faulty and not very clean. We later realized we'd missed the downstairs option, which was much newer and cleaner. The advertised kitchen didn't exist, and the laundry was expensive. The place felt short on both warmth and professionalism. There are better choices in town. We ate really well at Casa Manola and just missed a cloud that poured down rain.
