Urdaibai Etxea

We got some of the best sleep of our trip here. The rural setting is peaceful, with almost no street noise and hardly any light from town. Our ground-floor room was large and cosy, with incredibly comfortable beds. It's next to the breakfast area, which you walk through to reach the room, but that worked fine for us. You only hear breakfast noise during the breakfast hour. The area is otherwise completely private and locked off. The owners and their daughter serve a very good breakfast, including homemade pastries. The views are incredible, and the house is right beside the Urdaibai Bioreserve. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone after a quiet place near the coast.

The owners were spectacular, and breakfast was tasty with lots of options. There are about six rooms, each with a private bathroom. The hotel is two minutes from EA, right beside the road, with parking also next to the road. There are tables in the garden and by the entrance, a nice spot to have a bottle of wine and something to eat in the evening.

The room was spacious and the place was nice. Ea only really comes alive in the evening. Nothing is open after lunchtime.

The garden has comfortable places to sit, with hammocks and benches, and the hosts were attentive and lovely throughout. The house is at the roadside on the edge of a very pretty little village. Everything around was lovely, and I left delighted with the whole stay. If I'm back in the area, I'll definitely stay here again. Thanks for such a pleasant visit. We arrived on Thursday at about 22:15. For the first entry, they give you a code, then there's a box where you take the card that serves as the key to the gas station and the house during your stay. They send Google videos explaining how to get in, in case you can't manage on your own. Our room was small and cosy. It had a desk and chair, a TV mounted above, a wardrobe on the right, a bed with two bedside tables and lamps, and a full bathroom. It was pretty and welcoming, with heating in both the bedroom and bathroom that you could set yourself. We slept really well. Breakfast is served from 9 to 10:30 in the morning, and it changes every day. There are always delicious homemade sweets, cold cuts, bread, homemade orange marmalade, butter, tomato and oil, and a small glass of water. You can also have whatever you like to drink, coffee, Colacao, tea, and so on.
