My family and I spent four nights in July, using three rooms, and everyone loved the stay. The landscape and hotel were amazing, and it was a great place to slow down and reset during hectic travel. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and super clean, and the staff were very attentive. Both owners were fantastic hosts, and we couldn't have asked for more. The food was a real treat. The restaurant was a phenomenal take on Spanish-Basque food, with exquisite dishes at great value and desserts to die for. All three of our children couldn't stop talking about the food and the landscape. Ixua is a hidden gem in the Basque country, and we plan to end future trips to Spain and the Basque country here. Don't pass up the chance to stay at this boutique hotel and enjoy the local flavors.

The restaurant made a strong impression on us: we thought the food was excellent, and the wine was good and inexpensive. They provided high chairs and were attentive, especially in the evenings. One morning, though, we arrived at 0930 to a table that hadn't been set, which is why this gets 4 stars. Apart from that, we had a very good stay. We were warmly welcomed and well looked after, and they responded quickly and positively to last-minute email requests. The room matched the website description and had enough furnishings. The large double bed was comfortable. Traveling with a toddler, we especially appreciated the blackout automatic shutters and the hotel's very good travel cot. The room wasn't perfect. The otherwise excellent shower could use some replastering, and perhaps a new soap dish, though some wear and tear is fair enough. The scenery is stunning, access to San Sebastian and Bilbao is great, and it felt like very good value. Thanks for a lovely stay, we'd come back. The route down to town from the hotel is something to see, it wouldn't look out of place in the Vuelta D’Espagna! 🚲

I wish we'd stayed longer than one night. It's a family-run hotel with a relaxing atmosphere and comfortable beds, plus a restaurant that was surprisingly amazing. I want to come back. Definitely 5 stars.

The view is amazing, and it's a lovely spot for a short break from busy city life. The croissant was one of the best I've had so far. It would be perfect if they provided a hair dryer.

We've stayed here twice now for one night while traveling on through Spain. The hilltop setting has a great view, and the restaurant serves great food. Get the steak, you won't be disappointed. The rooms are big and the beds excellent, and the owner is very kind and friendly. Happy to come back next year.
