Casa Rural La Estancia

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the private terrace had really relaxing views of the countryside. The botanical garden is lovely and close by. It’s a great little place for a couple to spend a few days, hike the river trail, and unwind for the night. It’s very small but cozy. The pool was closed, which is normal in mid-October. It smelled a little damp after several days of heavy rain, but we aired it out and the heating cleared it up. The place is a bit uphill from town, so you’ll need to drive or get some exercise on foot. It’s near where the river trail begins, and we were glad we chose it.

We had a wonderful weekend and can’t wait to return. The town and hiking trails are both right nearby, so there’s no need to drive. The small house is thoughtfully equipped and a lovely place for a couple to relax and enjoy nature. The owner was very friendly and let us use the outdoor areas of both houses since the other one wasn’t occupied. The pool is shared with that house, but we were lucky to have it to ourselves. Our two dogs enjoyed the extra space too. The shower sprays water everywhere, which was my one complaint, but the mitt trick solved it 😉. I definitely recommend it.

The owners were wonderful and flexible about checkout, so we stayed in the house as long as we wanted. The only drawback for me was the small sofa. Otherwise, the terrace was lovely for breakfast or a cool evening barbecue and dinner under the stars. There’s plenty of space for the dog, and I loved relaxing on a sun lounger with the mountains and village in the background, taking a dip, or walking by the nearby river. A perfect little house for enjoying the outdoors and reading.

The place itself is wonderful, and the little house has everything you need. We also got lucky with the people staying in the other house, which shares the pool. The owners aren’t to blame, but there are four dogs right next door that bark and howl nonstop, day and night. It was as if they were inside the house, and we could barely rest. Hearing roosters and sheep in the background is one thing, but those dogs kept me awake. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, this isn’t ideal, and that alone may keep me from returning.
