The dinner was especially good, and the whole meal was high quality. Gemma (Hemma) made us feel very welcome, and the clean, comfortable accommodation had a lovely family history displayed on the walls. We’d spent five weeks walking the Camino de Santiago and were the only guests that night, a few weeks ago on October 2. I’m so glad our travel company had booked us in. The place is on that day’s alternative route, which was great because there were far fewer people walking it.

Gemma handled everything at the hotel, from reception and cooking to preparing rooms, serving meals, and washing clothes. I had some laundry done and it was washed and dried within a few hours. The room was simple but nice and very clean, and both dinner and breakfast were really good. The building had been a family home before becoming a hotel. I stayed one night in September 2025 while walking the Camino francés, after leaving Sahagun for the long walk to Calzadilla de los hermanillos. There was a Spanish army unit camped near the town, so it felt very safe. I had a positive stay and would come back. For anyone interested, my Camino travel partners were @Magichillholidays, based in Ireland.

The pictures of the host’s family and the decor gave this place a special feel. We spent one night at this lovely hotel, a little off the Camino, and our host looked after us wonderfully. Dinner and breakfast were both great, with strawberries from the garden, homemade strawberry jam, and a very good coffee. I’d definitely recommend it.

We had a really enjoyable stay, especially my two sons and me. The hotel is family run, with comfortable accommodation and fantastic food, all cooked by the host and owner. It’s on the quieter route via Via Romana. Highly recommended.

The views along the alternate Camino route were breathtaking when I walked it in spring, and it was much quieter too. The hotel is right on that route and felt like a hidden gem. It’s family run, and you can feel the warmth and care throughout. The spacious rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the food was sensational. If you ask, Gema will show you around and talk about the family photos on the walls, classy black and white pictures of Spain long ago. I wish every place to stay along the Camino felt like this. It’s the best place I’ve stayed so far.
