Awful noise. A dog left alone in a room yapped for hours, quite literally, while kids ran up and down the corridor shrieking and shouting until all hours. The room was what you’d expect for the price. You get what you pay for.

The café was pretty good, and the food tasted nice, though it closes on Sundays. We paid €120 for two nights in double rooms, and the place was quite clean. We arrived after check-in time and they didn’t make an issue of it. The room, though, was a problem. Our window looked onto a fully enclosed courtyard that felt like an oven, with no air moving through it. Heat built up, and noise from other rooms echoed around. It happened to be a hazy day with temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius, and by the time we arrived at night the room was unbearable. The air conditioning was off, while only the heating worked, which made it even more distressing. There wasn’t a window in the bathroom either. I asked reception the next morning if we could change rooms or have the air conditioning switched on. They said the hotel was full. They did lend us a fan for the night, which was something, but it didn’t do enough and we were hot again.

There’s a café right downstairs with good breakfasts, and the location was good too. We found the rooms clean, the bathroom and everything else was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The 24-hour service was really useful. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it.
