La Donaira

The setting is gorgeous and full of biodiversity, and there was plenty to do without leaving the hotel. We went on scenic walks from there and saw horses, donkeys, foxes, small birds, vultures, and eagles. We also had a wine tasting with the sommelier, who had made many of the wines by hand, even using his feet. The spa and massages were top notch. The food made great use of the vegetables and herbs grown on the property. We toured the gardens and farms, then enjoyed letting the talented chefs choose what we ate at each meal. They even prepared purées for our baby. A unique hotel with personal service that feels closely tied to its beautiful, biodiverse surroundings. An unforgettable experience.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this place was amazing. The concierge service was the kindest and most effective I’ve experienced, always available to take care of any detail or issue. The food and drinks were incredibly fresh, with virtually everything coming from the ranch, and no chemicals, additives, or hormones. The food and activities were beyond, beyond. The atmosphere, accommodations, historic buildings, gardens, and level of service were all gorgeous. If you ride, the Lusitano horse breeding operation is world class. For more adventure, they can arrange paragliding or canyoneering down gorgeous waterfalls, or you can just relax by the pool or in the spa. My only reservation is that this place might become too popular. It was an amazing, enlightening experience, and I’ll return as soon as I can.

The team made this magical stay unforgettable. Every person was thoughtful, kind, and attentive, and they went out of their way to make us feel at home, like family rather than guests. La Donaira is absolutely stunning. We hope to come back very soon!

I’ve stayed at Finca La Donaira three or four times now, and it feels more like coming home to friends and family than being a guest. The place has a kind of magic, with complete peace, beautiful rooms and spaces, and service I can hardly imagine being better anywhere in the world. Everything is handled with care, from booking to massages and yoga sessions. The food is extraordinary, mostly from the farm, fresh and organic, and prepared with real skill and love. David Raya Moreno brings such passion to natural wines that every lunch and dinner feels unique. I also want to mention Laura, Emma, Miriam, Sonja, Fernando, David, and the wonderful team, even though I still don’t know all their names. Manuel and his wife make incredible things from the finca’s produce. La Donaira stays with you long after you leave. Thank you for creating such a rare, soulful retreat. I’ll keep coming back, and each time feels more like home.
