Art Suites by Casa de Indias

Breakfast was a real highlight, with especially good coffee, fresh fruit, brioche toast, yoghurt and granola, baked eggs, cured meats, and toast. It was better than the breakfasts we tried at nearby cafes and great value. We stayed for four nights over the last weekend of August. The staff were lovely from the start, upgraded us to a suite, and clearly explained how everything worked. Their 24-hour service came in handy, and they gave us some spot-on restaurant suggestions. Our room was very clean, with fresh towels and consumables each day. We'd definitely come back.

The location is perfect, and the art is fantastic. The rooms, though, smelled damp and didn't look as nice as they do online. Ours needed some maintenance. My partner and I were in El Puerto for a wedding and couldn't find a taxi for over 30 minutes, even though we'd left plenty of time. With the ceremony about to start, we asked the owner for help. He said his driver could get there in 45 minutes, so we agreed. Twenty minutes later we found another ride and messaged him to cancel. We needed the faster option and couldn't wait another half hour. The owner's response on WhatsApp was rude and aggressive, and he swore at us because he'd already booked the driver. We would have gladly paid if he'd asked politely, but he insulted us before giving us a chance to offer. It was a deeply disrespectful, unprofessional way to start our wedding visit. I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone who values respectful communication.

We were here for a wedding just up the street, and the staff were incredible. At check-in they let us choose from several rooms, each with its own charm. The main phone number went straight to the owner, who helped with everything from parking and dinner reservations to basic information for those of us who don't speak Spanish. We didn't have time to try breakfast, but what we saw other guests eating looked good. The price was great for what we got, and we'd happily stay again.

I've been here several times and love it. The hosts are the best, and the thoughtful details and top-quality contemporary art make the place feel like more than an average hotel. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, and both the building and its lovely interior patio are a treat. Make sure you try the breakfast.
