The biggest letdown was how far the overall standard fell short of what I'd expect from a four-star hotel. Breakfast was especially disappointing for €12 per person: the selection was basic, with tomatoes as the only vegetables, and little to suit vegetarians or vegans. Repeated plates made the buffet look larger than it was, the food quality was poor, the scrambled eggs tasted watery and milky, the “cappuccino” had powdered milk and a little cocoa, and the cornflakes tasted like cardboard. The breakfast room was overcrowded and cups were often unavailable. We paid €420 for two people for four nights with breakfast, which seemed fair at first, but the spa cost extra despite the description making it sound included. Our room had a balcony and was decent, and the entrance area was nice. The pool outside was much smaller than in the photos, with little privacy because nearby apartment balconies overlooked it. The poorly maintained mini golf course was an eyesore from the balcony. We also heard a lot through the walls and around the hotel: loud conversations, slamming doors, chairs scraping, and babies crying. A buzzing lamp we reported on the first day was never fixed. The beach is close and has nice sand, but the harbor facilities dominate the view and the water isn't clear. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, and free parking is available on surrounding streets. Expedia communication was only in Spanish, with no English version.

The pool was a great place to relax, and the views around it were beautiful. Everything felt new, modern, and well cared for. We found the location really convenient, with easy access to what we needed. The staff were so friendly and helpful that we felt welcome throughout our stay. We also loved the food, both its quality and the variety. We had a wonderful time at PuertoBahia & Spa and would love to return. Highly recommended.

The prices have climbed so much that deciding to come back each summer is getting harder. I also wonder if it's still good value unless you have plenty of money, especially since the buffet quality seems to have dropped despite the higher cost. It used to be a highlight, with delicious local food and lots of variety. Still, I've chosen this hotel in summer for decades, and staying here has always been a pleasure and a chance to recharge. The location is unbeatable, the lobby is astonishing, and the pool and bar are fantastic. Those features seem to justify its four stars, after it spent a long time as a three-star hotel for some reason, perhaps tax savings. I've hardly ever had anything to complain about, and the staff are all so friendly and helpful that I may well book again.

We had a sea view and really enjoyed the breakfast during our five-night stay. Local transport stops right outside the hotel.
