Finca El Sosiego

If you want lots of room and a calm village setting away from other tourists, you'll love this place. The house is clean and very large, with plenty of space indoors and outside. We were there in February, and the heated pool was available all the time. The fireplace was the best thing for us when it got cold.

There are plenty of good points here: the house is spacious, clean, and in a peaceful location, with comfortable, clean bathrooms, a barbecue, parking, a TV, a fully equipped kitchen, and extra blankets. We used the heating even though it was August. The heated pool is a real plus, though bugs collect in it, so it needs skimming with a net every morning. The layout is three bedrooms, two with double beds and one with twin beds, plus two sofa beds in the loft above the living room. Sleep was a real problem. We barely slept the first night because the mattresses need replacing, especially those on the sofa beds, where the springs dig in. The boys in the first double bedroom, just inside the entrance, slept on the floor the second night because the bed frame kept them awake. One kitchen fridge doesn't cool, and the dryer also needs checking. There are lots of cats around, and the lawn is covered in droppings. The sheep and pigs are there too, and the pigs look to be in appalling condition. They need a lot of care, especially when the property is rented out. Eating outside can be a struggle because of the swarms of flies. There's also a lovely little chapel, but it's neglected and dirty. We had two phone numbers for the owner, but he didn't answer our calls over the weekend. The house is generally quite good, but at €800 for two nights, some things really need attention. With better upkeep, it could be worthwhile.

There wasn't even one decent mattress to sleep on, which is essential. The photos show a pool waterfall, but guests aren't allowed to use it, and the lawn was covered in feces. There was no Wi-Fi, and when we called, the owner didn't answer. For the nightly price, this rural house wasn't at all what we expected. I don't recommend it.

The views are spectacular, and otherwise everything was great. It's a lovely spot to relax or have a private party without bothering anyone. Finding the entrance can be confusing because there's no sign when you arrive, unless you know the area well.
