Hostal Maria

The room was clean and modern, and self check-in was easy and flexible. Staff were kind and communicative, and there are lockers where you can leave things after check-out. Good value too, I paid 55€ for a double bed in January.

The friendliest service is the best thing about this affordable place. It's close to the city center and suits people with low expectations. I'd highly recommend it.

I could manage it for one night. The outside looks run down enough to make you expect the worst, but inside the rooms are fine, with a big mirror, and the shower is great. What really bothered me was the green security light staying on in the room all night. It made me very uncomfortable and I couldn't sleep well. I've never seen anything like it.

We got in late after our flight and didn't reach the hotel until 1am, but Maria's father stayed up for us. He didn't speak English, though we managed to arrange parking. They have private underground parking for €5/night, best to book it in advance. The building looks shabby from outside, but inside there are marble stairways and everything needed for a good night's sleep. The shower was great, and it was all clean and tidy. Maria's father was there early the next morning too, so we could have a quick breakfast before setting off. A great budget hotel, recommended.
