We stayed in the Oripell, the largest room/suite, overlooking the pool. It had its own terrace with two sun loungers. The room was certainly unusual, but we loved it, and learning about its history and the original hotel owner Miguel Hernandez made the stay even better. This boutique hotel sits right in the middle of Elche, in peaceful, well-kept gardens. The pool area is especially nice, with two palm trees crossing over it to give a bit of shade during the day. The staff were friendly and happy to share advice about the area. A special mention for Jose the chef, who made our evening meal perfectly and exactly how we wanted it. Such a great guy!

We stayed in the Mistri room, which was spacious and opened onto a patio by the pool. The hotel has a lovely, relaxing feel, and it’s a short distance from Elche centre. We loved it so much that we booked another stay straight away. Communication and service were great.

Breakfast was incredible, and the pool was very clean, with salt water. The spa treatments were great and they were accommodating, around €50-€80 pp. The room was excellent, with lovely bedding and a big, clean balcony. Check-in was easy, the location was great, and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Free private parking too. We had a great stay and will be back.

I do NOT recommend this place. We booked it specifically for the beautiful swimming pool, but we couldn’t use it at all because the water smelled disgusting, like urine. They didn’t believe us and said no other guests had reported a problem, though maybe those guests were the ones urinating in the pool. Instead, they kept saying it was tested every day. We left after one night. Choose somewhere else if you don’t want this serious sanitary and health issue to ruin your vacation.

We spent over a week at Hort de Nal and celebrated our wedding there. The rooms and the rest of the property are beautiful, and the staff were very helpful. They were always there to help with the wedding arrangements too. We had a wonderful time with our family and wedding guests, and can only recommend the hotel.
