You can hear practically every sound through the old wooden floorboards, so the rooms have very poor soundproofing. Breakfast was fairly basic and could feel a bit meager depending on how full the kitchen fridge was. Otherwise, we loved the beautiful, tasteful furnishings and the cozy, romantic atmosphere of this historic building. The hostess was very friendly and even offered us a lift from the train station. The place is wonderfully situated by a small river at the edge of Espinosa's old town.

The main issue for us was how clearly we could hear people talking and moving around in neighboring rooms. We stayed when every room was occupied, so we heard all the noise other guests made. Otherwise, the rooms seemed clean and well equipped. Marypi, the owner, was very helpful and did what she could to make us comfortable, even leaving complimentary breakfast foods and checking whether we had allergies. The setting is ideal, on a quiet street where you can hear the river, yet close enough to the square for a stroll. Parking was easy on the street or in a public lot less than three minutes away on foot.

The rooms were comfortable and adequate, and parking was easy. The area is quiet and close to the city center. But getting in was a hassle: we couldn't open the key box and had to wait for maintenance. There was a bad smell in all the shared areas, and the rooms had neglected details, including broken hangers, hardened cobwebs, and a broken wastebasket. Even after we told Maripy, the heating only started working as we were leaving, and she never came to the house. Breakfast was self-service, with hygiene standards that left much to be desired. The house loses its charm once you get inside, if you can get inside at all.

It was three degrees outside, so the warmth and comfort inside were much appreciated. Such a cute, wonderful place. We'll definitely come back. Thanks, Maripi!
