Camping Solau

The service was perfect, and it’s a very good place to stay. It’s close to the 4*4 bus stop for the ride up to the lake of maurici. You can also walk there in 1 and half hour, with excellent views along the way. I’ll visit again.

The setting is spectacular, right where the path to the national park begins, with the waterfall making the best background sound. It felt like one of those sleep soundscapes from an app. The staff went out of their way to welcome us and handle every request. The beds were comfier than the ones in the fancy hotels we stayed at, and the bathroom was spotless, with incredible shower pressure. I was honestly sad to leave. For three short days, it felt like home, and I’m already planning to come back next summer. Moltes gràcies ♥️

We were there for the last two weeks of July, and although we’d been a little nervous about what to expect, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The pitches were flat and grassy, with lots of natural shade, and the river could be heard all the time. Viorica, the campsite owner, was helpful and made us feel welcome. The toilet, shower, and dishwasher blocks were spotless. There’s also a washing machine and tumble dryer. Deep ceramic basins are available for hand washing if you’d rather not pay for tokens. The campsite has a small shop with cold beer, juice, and icecream, plus coffee and croissants for breakfast. Quiet hours are from 11PM till 7AM. Viorica is happy to answer questions about paths and trails in the National Park and nearby areas. For hiking, scrambling, or rock climbing, speak with Senor Pere, who lives on site and knows the National Park like an encyclopedia. He gave us enough information and confidence to climb Gran Encantat. We also hiked Tuc de Ratera and Pic de Peguera. Espot is a five minutes walk away for shopping and dining, and there’s a Tourist Information Point in the village where the staff speaks very good english. Outside Espot, there’s a big lake and a watersports centre. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Thanks for a wonderful experience 👍

We’re hiking the GR11 and were so glad we picked this campsite. The young woman at reception gave us the friendliest, smiliest welcome, and even handed our dog a tin of dog food for free when we arrived. It’s a small family run place, spotless and beautifully maintained, with lots of lovely flowers. We totally recommend it if you’re walking the GR11. Espot is only 5mins away and makes a great rest day.
