Villa La Recalada

The garden and pool were pretty and well kept, and there’s a lovely balcony, but a lot made it hard to enjoy a peaceful stay. Construction beside and behind the villa woke us every morning, and the neighbor’s roughly 20 rescue dogs barked loudly and often. The road up is narrow and uneven, so take care if arriving at night. Inside, there was quite a bit of dust and cobwebs. The downstairs bedrooms had no air-conditioning, and the master ensuite was worn, with mould and rust around the shower and bath. Although the host knew our party size, there weren’t enough beds made up. The linen was dirty when we tried to make them ourselves, towels were short, and some bed slats were missing. It’s a shame, because the villa is spacious and beautiful, with a well-equipped kitchen.

The pool area and kitchen were lovely, and I really liked the house’s look. There are so many pretty spots for photos. I’d definitely come back!

That view from the lovely house was amazing. I’m planning to return with friends sometime.

It’s a large house in a handy spot near the beach, with 5-6 bedrooms and enough bathrooms. A good option for big families, though it could use some work.
