The rooms are upstairs on the right, and you check in at the bar through the door on the left since there’s no reception. A lovely man and woman welcomed us. The hallway feels cosy, with lots of cute little details, and our room was spotless. Though it’s beside the road, there wasn’t much traffic and it stayed very quiet. There are two lovely goats and a couple of dogs living there, though it’s a shame guests can’t feed or pet them. The bathroom doors are fully transparent, so one person can wait outside the room while the other uses it. Towels and soap were provided, but no conditioner. You can hear almost everything happening in the other rooms, which I think is an issue with hotels under four stars. Thankfully, our neighbours were quiet. For the price, I think it’s great, and we’ll definitely book again if we’re nearby.

It’s about a half-hour walk into town, which is a nice way to stretch your legs after a long drive. Parking is free and plentiful, and getting back onto the motorway the next day was quick and easy. We arrived while the kitchen was closed, so we didn’t try the food, though I suspect it may be very good. It was nice to have a drink at the bar when we got in, and the waitress was friendly, helpful, and had a lovely energy. We were all sleeping well in the studio apartment rooms, with great views of the mountain, which has a very powerful, magnetic energy. The rooms were spotless and newly renovated, almost like an IKEA showroom, and the bathroom was wonderful. This was a great stop on our long drive from England to Spain, much nicer than the places we’d stayed in France. The proprietors have put a lot of love and care into the place. I’d recommend it, five stars.

We stopped for brunch and got a kind of bocadillo. It was huge but delicious, and the service was nice.
