Apartamentos Ubaga

That beautiful town is a real oasis, but the accommodation made it feel like a punishment for visiting. We booked a four-person apartment and ended up in the “attic.” Calling it an attic seems generous. It felt like a “luxury dovecote,” luxury apparently meaning it had a roof. There was so little room that a couple of us got the “living room-extra bed-death trap.” The extra bed was a struggle to manage without breaking it, and came with no sheets or pillow. Minimalism, I suppose. The kitchen was so tiny you could barely fit a laugh. They'd left four coffee capsules, but there wasn't even a coffee maker. A clever way to make the expiry date irrelevant, I guess. The bathroom was another exercise in contortion, with a twist of the hips you could apparently do all your washing at once. And the building has ten tiny rooms crammed into it. It's almost artistic use of space, though mostly it tests the customer's patience. If the idea was a themed escape room, they succeeded. It's a shame such a lovely place has accommodation so far below expectations.

Laura and Elena, the current owners, made our return this summer feel special. Their service was outstanding, and the rooms were comfortable, cozy, and had everything we needed. Cleanliness, service, and availability get a 100 out of 100 from us. We'd stayed here a few years back and loved it then too. We wholeheartedly recommend it and hope to be back next summer. The owners are lovely, and the bed and pillow were unbelievably comfortable. It's right in the center, yet quiet enough for a great night's sleep. Everything was very clean. Fantastic stay.

The kitchen worked well for cooking, with a microwave, fridge, and stovetop, and the apartment was warm, which was a big plus. Everything was impeccably clean, and the beds were neatly made and comfortable, so we slept easily. It's right in the town center by markets and bars, but the area itself is quiet. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return. Highly recommend it.
