La Antigua Ferreria

Please note that the place is now under different management, and pay attention to reviews posted after November 2023. I've been twice. On the first visit, three of us ate there, and the food was awful: the fries and dishes had been reheated. It doesn't matter how much you pay if what they serve is unusable. The second time was for an event. I won't go into what I saw in the kitchen. The laundry room was filthy, with sheets piled up alongside cleaning supplies, and the whole hotel was dirty, as if it had been abandoned. We won't post photos or videos unless asked.

We loved this place enough to celebrate our wedding there. Its setting is unbeatable, and the facilities fit right into the surroundings. The rooms were clean and well cared for, and Sergio and his team were impeccable in their service and hospitality. I'd highly recommend it for a lovely day in nature, with delicious barbecues and a chance to unwind by the pool.

We came for a couple of restful days, and the peace and fresh air were just what we wanted. The food was excellent, especially the perfectly cooked ribeye. Breakfast was generous and good quality, just like it looked in the other reviews' photos. Everything was spotless, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. It's a stone's throw from Ezcaray. Couldn't ask for more, and we'll definitely return.

We brought our dog and had no problems. The €10 charge for him seemed a bit steep since there were no extras, but apart from the indoor dining area he could use the other facilities. He could even stay beside us at the pool, on the other side of the fence, which helped him feel at ease. We spent two days at this beautiful rural-style hotel, chosen for its spectacular surroundings. The outdoor pool is lovely in summer, and overall we had a positive stay. A couple of changes would help: on humid days the outdoor dining room floor gets soft, so boards would stop the chairs sinking. Rooms also get hot on warm days, and ventilation that didn't require opening windows would help keep insects out. The food was very good and breakfast tasty. I'd add a few more child-friendly dishes. Recommended for exploring the area.
