Mariflor wouldn't offer a refund or another solution after I couldn't travel because severe weather made the trip impossible. I understand that places have cancellation rules, but I expected some empathy and flexibility in such an unusual situation. Communication was unhelpful, and I was left feeling that payment mattered more than the guest. I wouldn't recommend these apartments if something unexpected gets in the way, since they offered no support or alternative.

We paid for the apartment and are now stuck at home, unable to get there. Even with an orange alert in place, they wouldn't refund us or move the dates, though Booking.com offered the option to change the reservation. The manager was very unfriendly and impossible to reason with, showing no empathy. We weren't even planning to ski, but without being able to reach the accommodation, we couldn't make any plans. Our experience with Apartamentos el Campal was disastrous, and for a ski trip I'd look elsewhere.

The worst part was being left with a weekend we badly needed gone before it began, along with the helplessness and disappointment. Mariflor, the apartment owner, showed no understanding when the storm made access impossible, despite the roads being closed and both the DGT (Spanish Directorate General of Traffic) and AEMET (Spanish State Meteorological Agency) advising against travel. It was a safety decision, not a whim. She wouldn't change the dates or refund us, and there were no alternatives or even a small gesture of empathy. Communication was cold, poor, and unprofessional from the start. The loss wasn't just financial; it was the lack of consideration from the person managing the accommodation that made the experience so upsetting. Sometimes the hardest part isn't the weather, but how you're treated.
