B&B HOTEL Figueres

The bed was comfortable, and there’s a nice field across the road for walking the dog. Reception was friendly and even gave the dog a little gift bag. That’s about where the positives end. The parking felt insecure, with very narrow spaces in front of the neighboring shops. The rooms were basic, the shower still had hairs in it and a broken drain, and all the refillable shower products were empty. One room for three people had just one large towel; in our other room, dirty towels were left on the floor and the hand-wash dispenser was broken. I know it’s budget accommodation and wasn’t expecting the Ritz, just somewhere clean and functional.

We’ve stayed at a lot of B&B hotels, and this was one of the best. The rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was very good, and the service was friendly and efficient.

At 5am, a group of workmen or guests were shouting at each other and hitting parked cars with their fists outside. The hotel staff let it carry on without doing anything. There wasn’t much to make up for that: breakfast had a really poor selection and the staff there were rude. The receptionist seemed unconcerned, the air conditioning didn’t work, and I had to sleep with the window open onto a noisy road. There was only one pillow, and the towels were very thin. Parking wasn’t secure either.

The rooms were spacious, very clean, and comfortable. There was free coffee available all day.
