B&B Hotel Benidorm Finestrat

I was travelling alone, so I didn’t want to confront the inconsiderate guests next door. Whenever they slammed their door while going back and forth to friends’ rooms, my room actually shook. I called reception and asked them to speak to the people in the next room. It’s a shame, because I’ve had great experiences at B&B Hotels before and since this stay. It might help to spread group bookings across several floors so people are less likely to keep visiting each other’s rooms. Check-in itself was fine, but within a few hours the noise had become ridiculous.

At 11:07 pm, I got a call saying we could move rooms, and we did. The new room was 21 degrees, even though the air conditioning was centrally controlled there too. That only made the way we’d been treated feel more unacceptable. Our original room was 29 degrees, and after more than three hours there was no change, despite asking for the AC to be turned down. Staff said nothing could be done because it was centrally operated. The receptionist came up and lowered the requested temperature from 21 to 16, but three hours later the room was still 29 degrees. The room was also small and extremely hot. A very disappointing stay.

Everything was clean and modern, and our room was nice and quiet. The staff were friendly too. It’s well placed for shops and restaurants, with free parking, and the beach and restaurants in Benidorm aren’t too far to reach on foot. I’d definitely recommend it.

At after 3 pm, our room was already 29 degrees. We ran the air conditioning for three hours and it dropped by just one degree. The receptionist came to see us and said the problem was with the main machine. We asked for a fan, but she said they had none, and no one offered to try another room. The bed creaks and the pillows are thin too. The hotel is only a little over a year old, but there are already plenty of reviews mentioning these same problems, and management seems to do nothing. It’s hard to understand building a hotel with tiny rooms, poor soundproofing, and inadequate AC. The rooms are small, the windows only open a few centimetres, and the hotel is badly signposted. We’ve stayed at many B&B hotels in France, Portugal, and Spain, and this was the worst by far. We’ve never had reason to complain about their other hotels, but this stay has really put us off the B&B brand.
