Hotel Bela Fisterra

The room was clean, and the service was fine. There’s gated parking if you’re traveling by car. It did cost more than the hotels nearby, though.

The room felt modern, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was a nice buffet for just €10. The beach is close, and there’s a supermarket across the road. It’s outside the city center, though, and walking to the lighthouse takes about an hour.

The hotel’s design and setting are fantastic. The beach is easy to reach, and the surroundings are beautiful and relaxing. After three nights, though, our experience with the management and staff was one of the worst we’ve had in Galicia. We booked a deluxe room because we were traveling with our seven-month-old baby. They put us beside the salon, saying it was the only room available. The salon is used for breakfast and private events, and noise carried into our room. We asked to move, but were told the hotel was full. Since we booked directly, they could have warned us about the events and the room location beforehand. There were two noisy events after 7 pm, when our baby was meant to be asleep. They even invited us to join in. They should have told us about the schedule and the room’s proximity to the salon, especially knowing we had a baby, but really, anyone in that room should have been warned. The receptionist and the woman preparing breakfast were also unpleasant to deal with. They played loud music, left the salon door open, made phone calls right outside our door, and yelled to each other there. The other guests were very polite, but the workers were annoying and rude. They knew their noise had woken the baby several times and didn’t seem to care. It could be one of the best hotels to stay at in Galicia, but with this staff, we wouldn’t come back.

The beach is about a five-minute walk away, and you can reach the city center, with plenty of restaurants and bars, in 10-15 minutes on foot. We liked etel&pan for its inexpensive food and great dishes and desserts. The hotel’s rooms are spacious, air conditioned, and cosy, with a lovely shower. Staff were helpful and professional, and breakfast was very nice. Wi-Fi was strong, though not especially fast, and there’s a cold water fountain available around the clock. Prices are a little high, but we felt it was worth it.
