Casa Rural O Ventorrillo

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is in a separate building from the rooms. It's a peaceful spot out in the countryside, away from any town, which makes it ideal if you want quiet. A GPS is essential, though, both to find the hotel and to get around to nearby towns and attractions.

The owner was very nice, and the rooms were clean, roomy, and decorated with good taste. Breakfast is served in the restaurant, with toast or homemade pastries. We tried the cake and doughnuts. The only issue I noticed was that the heating couldn't be adjusted.

It's a bit of a trek to reach the guesthouse, but we thought it was well worth it. We were four, two adults and a child, and stayed two nights in cozy, comfortable rooms in a lovely, quiet setting. The food was delicious, and Magdalena and Cristina looked after us wonderfully. We also tried a hike they recommended, to a beautiful waterfall that works well for the whole family. It was in Santa Eulalia de Oscos, or somewhere around there, so ask locally. We're very grateful and would happily recommend a visit.

The homemade food was simply spectacular, and the owners were friendly and attentive throughout our four-day stay. The Portuguese waitress isn't there anymore, but the current staff are excellent. I'll definitely come back on my next quad bike trip in the area.
