Hotel Na Taconera

Na Taconera was a relaxing, comfortable place for me and my boyfriend. It’s a smaller hotel, with friendly staff, and the half-board meals gave us loads of choice. There are shops nearby and a few nice beaches around a 10-minute walk away. We rented a car to explore the island, and everything we wanted to see was no more than two hours away, so the location worked really well. Getting a taxi was the frustrating bit. They’re expensive around there, and the fare seemed to vary depending on the driver. Thank you!

We’ve visited four times and spent more than €10,000 in total, but the gym experience has left us unsure about coming back. The coach there barely acknowledges hotel guests, never smiles, and is so discourteous that it’s hard to understand in a four-star hotel. We felt his behavior spoiled the experience, especially at a hotel that presents itself as sports-focused. He seemed much more welcoming to Spanish members, and around 70% of the gym space appeared to be set aside for them. He also used the limited machines to work out during his shift. We even saw him eating from the guest buffet at 8 p.m., which felt like one privilege too many. It made us wonder who he was, perhaps a local politician’s son who needed a job. The other services were excellent, including housekeeping, the buffet manager, reception, and Mr. Paco. But this coach should have been dismissed a long time ago and replaced by someone willing to work who understands a four-star hotel.

Such a relaxing atmosphere, a comfortable room, and really good food made for a lovely stay. The staff were especially kind, friendly, and helpful, and added a lot to the experience. I did miss having toothpaste and coffee in the room. Even so, I’d happily recommend this hotel.

The hotel was beautiful, and I liked the buffet. A few staff members were very friendly, though others came across as dismissive and made parts of the stay uncomfortable. The area is also quite far from shops, so you need transport. My friend and I got a lot of stares, both at the hotel and around town. As a Black traveller, I wouldn’t recommend this area if you want to feel at ease. It wasn’t an awful experience, but I’d choose another part of Mallorca.
