El Casal de Nicolás

Pili made us feel so welcome, and it was a pleasure meeting her. The place itself is beautiful and clearly very well cared for. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality.

We stayed in a downstairs apartment as a group of four, and everything was spotless. It had all the things we needed, from clean dishes and cutlery to a washing machine, dishwasher, big fridge, and really comfortable sofas. The village is peaceful, with a bakery and convenience store close by, and makes a good starting point for exploring the area and going on excursions. Pili was incredibly attentive and lovely. We only saw Paco as we were leaving, which was a shame, because we would have enjoyed chatting with him and getting a tour of the town. There's also a lounge and wine cellar where groups can get together. We've already told them we'll return, and we'll recommend the place to everyone.

Fortanete makes a great base for exploring the Maestrazgo region, whether you're traveling with family or by motorbike, and the setting is spectacular. The apartments are full of character, kept immaculate, and have thoughtful details throughout. There's a dining room that works well for large groups, too. Pilar and Paco are generous hosts who clearly care about both their guests and Fortanete. Paco showed us around this historic town and shared story after story. We found it great value and would happily come back.

My wife and I stayed in a peaceful, comfortable, spotless place in FORTANE, a town at the foot of the Maestrazgo mountains, near Cantavieja, La Iglesuela del Cid, Villarroya de los Pinares, and Allepuz. The apartments at "El Casal de Nicolas" are air-conditioned and thoughtfully laid out, with every detail cared for. Pilar runs the place with real versatility, and her husband Paco has lovingly looked after the apartments. They made sure we felt comfortable and well cared for throughout. We left saying “see you later” instead of goodbye, because we plan to return soon and enjoy the experience again. We have my brother-in-law Andrés to thank for recommending these lovely apartments. I already knew about them!
