Villa Algarrobo

We came back after our first visit in October, and once again the weather has been cracking. The mountain and Frigiliana views are great, and the UVA is high, so remember sunscreen. We came to relax and get some sun, and haven't been disappointed. The villa makes a good base, though the drive up can be hairy if someone is coming the other way. It's bumpy, but worth it. Google Maps gets you to the coded gate where the keys are, then it's a little farther to the house and the parking behind it. The villa is surrounded by terraces of mangos, avocados, and figs. There are gents working the terraces; you might hear them, but won't see them unless they're on the flat bit on the way up. Inside, it's clean and well equipped. The kitchen has a dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, coffee machine, and a gusto machine, with what you need in the cupboards and drawers. Bring bin bags and extra dishwasher tabs, as only one is provided. The main living area is cozy, perhaps a little dated, but comfortable, with strong wifi and various TV channels. Downstairs there's a twin room with a large cupboard, plus a shower room and toilet across the way. Upstairs are a double bedroom and another shower room. Towels are laid out. There are lots of places to sit outside, including a covered dining and sitting area for when the sun gets too much. There's a bbq in the corner, and a sink area with the washing machine. It's a good idea to shop before heading up. Nerja has loads of supermarkets, and it's very pretty once you've navigated the roundabouts, with plenty of places to eat.
