Apartamentos Finca COLON

We stayed in apartment number 7. It’s in a small, quiet village, and the apartment has a sea view.

The garden and pool area are beautiful, and the location feels almost right on the ocean. The beds were comfortable, but the interiors and equipment are worn out and need replacing.

We really liked the apartment and its location for hiking. The west-facing sea view from the huge terrace was lovely, and from the apartment you can reach a large covered canal that runs across the island, from east to west. There are great views from here of Roque Teneguía, the petroglyphs, the volcano, and the two lighthouses. Our place was the uppermost apartment in a row of 11 built up the steep hillside. It had a living room, bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen, and was well maintained with everything we needed, including Wi-Fi, TV, an iron, and a hairdryer. The kitchen had a fridge, microwave, and two-burner cooktop. We could park easily on the street in front of the complex. There are two accommodations called Colón in Los Quemados. Maps showed ours on Cam. Nicho la Cruz, while the other one is nearby on a side street. Los Quemados itself is a village of 20 houses with no shops. Los Indians is about 3 km away and easy to reach on foot. There are two bars and a restaurant, El Quinto Pino, which is very good and has magnificent sunset views when the sunsets happen. The nearest supermarkets, bars, and restaurants are in Los Canarios, and you can only get there by car. The beautiful LP130 hiking trail meets the village there. It’s an easy walk westbound, but first there’s a steep climb from Los Canarios behind the church.

The complex was very quiet, with great views and beautiful sunsets, and the price was absolutely fair. Check-in was friendly and quick, and there was free parking right at the complex. The apartment was clean, though a bit dated, and the kitchen could use a few more things. During our week there, the towels were changed twice and the linens once. Only one pool was open, but that was fine. The restaurant was closed.
