The location works well for town, and the host is pleasant and quick to reply. But the building is unmanaged, and he blames the guests for the dirty kitchen. The dishes weren’t unwashed, but the surfaces clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The fridge was filthy inside and out, pots were sitting on the kitchen floor, ants were running across the surfaces, and the dining tables were sticky. It smelled of old cigarettes and mold. A room costs more than 50€ a night, yet the owner expects guests to clean the building too. I’ve worked in hospitality in several countries for years, and this place felt unhygienic and unwelcoming. I chose to sleep in my car and got a refund. There are lots of plants, but sadly they’re dusty and neglected. It made me feel sad because the building is beautiful and could be great with a bit more care and daily upkeep. If the kitchen and eating areas were cleaned every day, this wouldn’t be an issue. As it is, it isn’t!

The young couple looking after the place were super friendly. Our room had a nice terrace, and there’s another lovely one upstairs. Downstairs, there’s a relaxing shared space with a common kitchen. You can rent electric bikes there too. Great location and good value for the price. I still miss their baby cat! 😻♥️

Everything was clean and tidy, and we had all we needed. The room was simple and clean, with heating and more than enough blankets. One of the two mattresses felt quite new and was comfortable, while the other had a bit of a dip in the middle. The small kitchen was perfectly adequate, and the 30L hot water tank gave both of us enough for a hot shower. Good value overall.

I was there in May, and the place was empty, maybe because it was low season between Easter and Summer. The building looks new and is big and clean, but the basic, cheap furniture has no originality. The bedding was OK, and my room had a great terrace overlooking the city and the volcanoes to the south. There’s also a big shared terrace, plus a downstairs dining room with a small kitchen and a chill-out corner, good for la Maspalomas style fun, with a walled garden behind the door. They take a photocopy of your passport on the back of your invoice, and payment is due on arrival. I wish I’d seen the place with more people around. The staff were professional and friendly, though in my opinion more professional than friendly. When I was leaving, I asked to use the bathroom in the room I’d stayed in. The man in charge seemed upset, even though the hotel was completely empty and the room hadn’t been cleaned yet. I looked upset too, and he agreed. I felt he did it more to avoid a bad rating than to be helpful. Maybe guests don’t always behave elegantly in high season, but I left with mixed feelings. Still, I’d recommend the place.
