El Mirador de Sanabria

We had a great stay at this quiet place, especially with the lake beaches so close. The kids loved the house kitchen and the porch with its wooden tables. The oven and internet worked perfectly for us, and we didn't hear any disruptive noise, despite what I'd read in other reviews. There isn't a supermarket close by, but one is about a 10-minute drive away, which was fine. We could have used a few more trash bags, though that's a small thing. A lovely spot to unwind, highly recommended.

Every room looks out over the whole Sanabria lake, and the houses have a lovely garden at both the front and back. They're very well kept inside, with all sorts of amenities, and don't feel old. Set at the edge of the picturesque village of San Martín de Castañeda, this is the most special rural house I've stayed in. 10/10.

The village and monastery look beautiful from here, and the accommodation's location is fantastic. The bathroom and bedroom were good, and the heating worked perfectly. The living and dining area wasn't comfortable, and the area above the hob could have been cleaner. I'd recommend staying here if you're not expecting a high level of comfort.

All the multi-bedroom units have their own bathrooms, and the decor and service were outstanding. The location also makes a great base for visiting the Sanabria Lagoon, the Lagoon of the Fishes, the Monastery of San Martín, Ribadelagos, and more. It's a fantastic place for a weekend, and it has appeared in films by Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente. Congratulations to the designers.
