El Molino de Batán

The pool was a real bonus, especially with children, and the owners and their son looked after us wonderfully throughout. We stayed at MOLINO DEL BATÁN during the week of July 12th, and came away very happy. The place was spotless, the rooms stayed cool in the heat, and the accommodation had everything we needed, with thoughtful touches that made the holiday pleasant. It’s a beautiful place to stay while visiting Húescar and the surrounding area. We’ll certainly return when we’re back in Húescar.

The owners were lovely and brought us anything we asked for, and the place was beautiful and clean. But we’d hoped to disconnect and enjoy nature, and instead it’s right beside the road, more than we expected, and there were two other families staying there. We thought we’d be on our own, so the noise was a downside. I’m giving it two stars because of the road and because we weren’t told there’d be other guests.

We had a wonderful family stay. The service was excellent and everything was very clean. We’ll definitely return.

Juan and his wife were genuinely delightful, and Juan clearly takes good care of this beautiful place. Even so, the stay didn’t work out that well for us. There were three of us, two adults and a baby, and we were put in a ground-floor room without being told beforehand that other guests would be upstairs. The footsteps, chairs, and other noise were constant. We’d imagined a place surrounded by nature, but it’s actually beside the Galera-Huéscar road, though that part was mostly our own mistake. The price also felt completely out of line for what it is, a very beautiful house in the woods, but an expensive one.
