Hotel Borgia

There was only one window, looking onto an interior patio, in our roomy room with two double beds. The place was nice, and the staff kept it clean and were friendly. The bathroom was large and clean too. Noise from the corridor came through quite loudly, and light leaked in under the main door, so I put a towel over the gap to block it.

I’ve stayed here before, and it really merits a 4-star rating. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet is excellent, with plenty of variety. There’s also a well-stocked bar that’s run well. I’d happily recommend it, especially for the value.

The location was great, but after staying here twice, I wouldn’t choose to come back. The rooms and hotel are basic, with a 70s/80s interior that badly needs renovating. Breakfast was awful. The scrambled eggs mixed with cheese and butter were the worst thing I saw and tried to eat, food to send you to an early grave. I’d look for a hotel by the beach instead. In low season it’s cheaper, better quality, and only a 10-minute drive away.

Our room looked out onto the street, with a very attractive tall palm tree in the view that gave it a tropical feel. It was a clean, comfortable room at the usual hotel standard. Restaurants, shops, and other places are just a two-minute walk away. The staff were pleasant, though quite formal.
