Tu & Me Resort

We wanted a break from the daily routine, some sun, and time to relax by the pool. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by orange groves 🍊. In the end, we had a good experience because the service and pool area made up for a truly horrible room. The pool area is lovely, with enough loungers for everyone, so there’s no rush or need to reserve one. You can sit in the shade of a palm tree or out in the sun. It’s a very relaxed place to sunbathe, have a cocktail, and switch off. The pool is the deepest I’ve ever seen at a hotel 🤩, and the Friday night singer was very nice and created a good atmosphere. The mojito was pretty good, Caribbean-style, and cocktails cost €8. We were pleasantly surprised by the “libre buffet” for €15 per person at lunch or dinner, with drinks not included. Breakfast was part of our stay. There wasn’t a huge selection, but there was enough variety, and we thought it was a good deal. In town, a menu del día costs about the same for just two or three courses, plus you’d need a taxi at €10 each way or to rent a bike. We’re not bike people. Honestly, we expected Gandia to be cheaper than Valencia, especially for food, but it really wasn’t. The apartment looked good in the photos but wasn’t as pleasant in person. The bathroom was awful, with water marks along the shower floor and beyond, even in the bedroom. There’s a concrete-like floor throughout the apartment, which gets extremely slippery from even a drop of water. The bathroom is very outdated, the shower is worn out, and the towel holder under the sink was broken 😂. The room also smelled stuffy and humid. There’s no sound insulation at all. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the cleaning staff were working, and we could constantly hear furniture moving, banging, suitcases rolling, and doors slamming. My favourite was the water pipes at night. They’re SO LOUD when neighbours flush or turn on the shower or sink, whether you’re on the ground floor or upstairs. It’s annoying, and you can imagine it going on all night. The mattress also seems to be from the previous century, it’s extremely uncomfortable and squeaks when you move. There was no water bottle in the room. A 500 ml bottle cost €1.15 from the vending machine, a 1-litre bottle was €2 at the restaurant, and a 1.5-litre bottle cost €2.30 in the lounge. There was no kettle, tea, or coffee in the room either, and no fridge.
