Hotel Rural El Denario

Sonia was fantastic from the first phone call when I booked. I stayed at the Denario on someone’s recommendation, and it was a 10 out of 10. My room had a balcony and a fantastic bed, and the place was superbly clean. Breakfast was very good too. It’s right in the center of Garray, with all sorts of services close by. I only wish I’d had more time to enjoy the stay, but I’ll be back. Thanks so much for everything, Sonia!

We went for a weekend in February and found the hotel spotless and very well cared for. The bed was immaculate and the mattress excellent, but having just one pillow on a double bed is uncomfortable and feels outdated. The bathroom was clean, with a whirlpool tub; we’d much rather have a shower, since climbing in and out of the tub feels like a risk we’d rather skip. The towels were new and perfectly clean, though a little small. The village was so quiet that we slept wonderfully until other guests started getting up. Then we could hear every footstep on the wooden floors. Breakfast was the main letdown. It was meant to be continental, but there wasn’t any fruit or yogurt. There was bottled juice, but after we didn’t have any the first day, none was left the second. The coffee was very good, but we weren’t offered more. We got toast with butter or oil and a small piece of plum cake each, which wasn’t even homemade, and there was no plum cake on Sunday. It felt meager and could be much better. The location would have been great if the online information had been accurate. Google listed five places for dinner in Garray, but one was fully closed, another was on vacation, and the hotel restaurant had stopped operating. One of the two remaining places was quite dirty, leaving us with only one option. I know that isn’t the hotel’s fault, but it did affect the experience. On our second night, we had to drive back to Soria for dinner.

The host, Sonia, was an absolute delight. The hotel itself is beautiful, kept in meticulous condition, and very clean. It’s only a five-minute drive from Soria. I’d recommend it 100%.
