Sabàtic Gavà Mar, Barcelona, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

For a relaxing holiday or a business trip, it’s a great place to stay. There’s a huge garden with a pool and, in summer, hammocks. A gate opens straight onto the beach. David loyds and a few very nice restaurants are within 200m of the resort.

The outdoor spaces are nice, and the location is four-star. There’s beach access, and the airport is only a short drive away. Free bikes are available for riding near the beach. Street parking is free during the week only. The elevators are quirky, and setting the room thermostat is odd, with a lower limit of 23C, so rooms can feel a bit warm. Breakfast isn’t included for Platinum members.

I’ve spent more than a year at this hotel across visits over the past 10 years, in winter, summer, spring, and autumn. There’s plenty to enjoy at the hotel and Gava Mar in every season. It’s just south of the airport among lovely pine forests, with beautifully designed gardens and a pool. From the pool, a guest-only gate leads to the beach. The rooms are excellent and modern, and communication with guest services by email has always been quick and professional. It works well for both holidays and business, with easy access to Barcelona town centre. Whether you want a quiet break or a great place to stay just outside the centre, you won’t be disappointed.

The hotel and service were amazing. The cheesecake was life changing, and the outside smelled amazing too. I wish I knew what that smell was.
