There’s a cafeteria on the ground floor, and it’s a decent budget choice in Gijón. The city centre is quite a long way off, though, and the mattresses, pillows and shower could all be better.

Breakfast was a pleasant start to the day, with plenty of options. Dinner was more mixed: the fish soup was delicious, but the other choices weren't really to my taste. That's subjective, of course. The staff were genuinely friendly and eager to help, though it was hard to communicate because they didn't speak much English. One annoying issue was the shortage of paper serviettes, and there were no drinking water bottles in the rooms. During my bath, water also seeped onto the floor, which was unpleasant. I forgot to take pictures of it. The room and washroom were comfortable and as expected, so my stay at Hotell 44 was average overall, with a few things that could be improved.
