Hotel Rural Mirador de Deva

Teresa, the owner, knows so much about the area and is a real treasure. The hotel is well kept, set in a lovely green spot just outside Gijón. Breakfast is simple, with a good range of choices, and you can go see the sheep.

Breakfast on the terrace came with homemade food and spectacular views of Gijón. We stayed with our dog, and the room and bathroom were both very spacious and clean. The owner was really friendly. It's a wonderful rural hotel outside Gijón, close to Universidad Laboral and the botanical garden.

We thought the price was a little high during the first weekend in August, though places all around the area seemed to cost about the same. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by nature with incredible views, and it feels peaceful and welcoming. Teresa was exceptionally attentive. If you get the chance to talk with her, do, her stories are as magical as the place. Gijón is only a 10-minute drive away.

We stayed in Deva, a parish of Gijón, at this lovely country hotel and would happily come back next time we're in town. Our room was huge, clean, and had beautiful views, with parking on site. Dogs are allowed, though they can't be left alone in the room. That wasn't an issue for us since we took ours everywhere. The person looking after us was so friendly, and breakfast was a generous homemade spread: fresh orange juice, coffee, toast and jam, lemon cake, doughnuts, Santiago cake, cheese, and ham. Gijón is just a short drive away.
