Jasjosé Begoña - Frente al Parque de Begoña - VUT-671-AS

I’ve stayed loyally with B&B hotels in Portugal, but we were really unlucky to end up at this awful hotel during our time in Asturias. At 150 EUR a night, it was completely unreasonable. The food was horrible, and the Wi-Fi didn’t reach our room. There’s no AC, the elevator doesn’t work, and street noise comes right through because the rooms aren’t acoustically isolated. Everything feels very dated. Stay anywhere else, literally. Absolutely terrible.

We were walking the Caimino del Norte and stayed here for one night. The room was large, with a balcony, and both clean and comfortable. The hotel was excellent.

The location is great, five minutes from the center and a ten-minute walk to the beach, and the Wi-Fi worked fine. The old facilities and poor sleep made the stay difficult. It was very hot, with no AC or fan and no blinds, so we couldn't sleep; noise came through the thin walls, including a horrible sound from a neighbor's AC in the patio. With the window open, mosquitoes got in. Parking costs 15€ a day, and the space is very narrow and hard to fit into if you have an SUV or similar.

I don't understand the three stars. I've stayed in better youth hostels, and this place isn't even cheap. The mattresses were so hard, the lighting was dim and awful, and the area was noisy. We couldn't close the window because there was no ventilation. There wasn't a kettle for morning coffee or drinking water on site, so you had to go out and get some. Cleanliness was average, and nothing felt pleasant, including the customer service. The worst hotel experience I've ever had. I don't recommend it.
